Wild Weather for Australia Day Weekend

wild-weather-for-australia-day-weekend

Its been a wild weather Australia Day long weekend all down the Australian east coast and our thoughts are with those affected! Here in the north, we had an unexpected weekend of ‘silence’ with all telecommunications down (mobile, internet and even land line telephones) for 24 hours until late yesterday afternoon!

But anyways, the poor weather put an end to any hopes of fishing and no doubt there will be a bit of dirty water and debris to deal with when they do.

But here’s hoping the good fishing continues when you get back out. Below is a teaser for you from Andrew Dunbar of the Surfers Paradise Game and Sport Fishing Club on the season they’ve had thus far:

This season club members have tagged 119 black marlin between 14 boats. Sea Eagle has been the in-form boat with 31 marlin so far this year. Already in 2013, many members have caught their first marlin and many new fisherman have been introduced to the adrenaline rush of hooking a marlin as well!

The SPGSFC All Tackle / All Species comp is coming up in March. Check the tournament calendar for more information.

And here is a catch up video from Larva Lure’s striped marlin of the Goldy last weekend!
