Blue Marlin World Cup and more

Representing Australia in this year’s Blue Marlin World Cup is Capt. Corey Hard’s Askari. They’ve been out yonder off Cairns for a couple of days now so we look forward to hearing what they’ve found when they get back. As one of the first countries to start fishing, it’s almost like a head start right.. ;-)

Good luck out there!

Meanwhile, around the rest of the country is was a pretty quiet election weekend on the water for billfish. Col and Kylie Hombsch were fishing with Capt. Russell Caphorn on his Kaizen went 3-1-1 (striped marlin) for Col out of the Sunshine Coast to get the new club year on the board for SGFC.

In the west though, the sailfish season has been hotting up for Jeda Ellen’s Makaira Game Fishing in the leadup to the Broome Billfish Classic next week (8-15 July),  Yesterday they converted 9-9-8 sails following up from 17-12-8 the day before!
