Yorkey’s Knob Light Tackle Slam

Congratulations to the Poulter family on Think Big who took out the Light Tackle Slam on the weekend and also a big thank you to Paul and Sharon for the report!

The three 3 day event started Friday and finished up at 2pm Sunday although the Poulters could not fish Friday due to work commitments, there were no billfish tags on Day 1.  On Day 2 they had a double of marlin up in the morning without conversion, later in the day Sharon was able to successfully switch a sailfish of the left teaser for the first tag of the comp.

Wild Turkey also converted and tagged a black marlin to put them on the scoreboard.

On Day 3 the weather let up and the Poulters were again able to convert a black only 2.5 hours to put them on two tags. They did have another chance jumping off yet another black later in the day.  Other boats obviously were having the same issue raising fish but unable to stay attached.

The Presentation was held on Sunday evening in the Beautiful new Tenderhooks Steak and Seafood restaurant.

The final results were:
Think Big win with 2 tags both for Sharon
Wild Turkey Runner up with 1 tag to Matthew Bergamo who was also Champion Male Angler.
