Although the marlin didn’t show up in numbers to play for the Ladies Ribbons tournament on Saturday. There are still a few big ones around for those still fishing.

The ladies teams competing in the Ribbons on the weekend accounted for 1 black marlin and 7 sailfish tags – tournament report to come – as well as plenty of other game fish species to keep the weigh station running well into the night. Last nights presentation celebration at the Cairns Convention Centre was a huge night and congratulations to everyone involved!

Outside of the comp though some big success for Capt. Haydon Bell’s Kanahoee who ventured wide for a few days fishing out to the Sea Mount and back. Haydon said that they released two big fish at 700 and 950lbs+ which was satelite tagged (photos to come when back in range) as well as Bodie getting to leader one about 400lbs as well~!

And as mentioned on the social media channels yesterday, as we see one season wind down, another kicks off and its started already off Port Stephens. Capt. Daniel Carlson’s Little Audrey on his way home from their Cairns season went 2 from 5 blue marlin off Fraser and 2 from 3 (blue and stiped) off Port (photo).
