Moving south, more great drone action

A lot of the Cairns boats are moving south with the bite now bidding farewell to the Ribbons for at least the time being. Not a whole lot of action to report though.

On the Bank Capt. Craig “Sparra” Denham’s Hot Shot went 1 from 2 with one about 350lbs (and more great drone footage) while Jamie reports he got a turn in the chair on one about 150lbs on the tide change yesterday morning as well on Capt. Russell Caporn’s Kaizen.

Capt. Dan McCarthy’s Moana III finished up his trip with angler & IGFA rep for Japan Mr Ichiro Takahashi. Dan says that while they only converted 10 marlin there were 5 nice ones amongst them including the pending record 870lb blue from last week (and missed another good blue as well) and a 1200lb black sat tagged during the Lizard Island comp and 900 x 2 , 850 and a few small ones.

Off Townsville Peter & Leigh O’Brien of O’Brien Boats fished Myrmidon on OB1 for 4 from 4 to 400lbs.

And the drone footage from last month’s spectacular still shots on board Capt. Steve Ahler’s Hellraiser has been released. You can watch it here…its amazing! Full footage credit goes to Chris Ehrlich and Justin Branner.
