Gold Coast again

gold-coast-again

Sorry all as I’ve been having trouble getting online during the past week – one more week of this and then the report frequency should increase – especially as both Port and Gold Coast continue like the seasons that will never end. (Capt. Scotty Thorrington on Freedom finished his Port Stephens season with 130 tags and possibly left them biting!)

Yesterday it was another report from the Gold Coast that indicates the blue marlin are back on the bite again with Jeff Wregg reporting from Barco with 7 blues raised yesterday for 5 bites, 4 hooked-up and 2 tags.  Quality by-catch as well with wahoo and a cracker dolphin fish.

Vince said at one stage they had a blue free swimming about 6ft from the back of the boat while they were fighting another.

Plenty of tournaments coming up over the next few weeks including:

  • Peter Goadby Memorial (Sydney GFC)
  • Mooloolaba Billfish Bash
  • Simrad Broken Bay
  • Canberra Yellowfin
  • Shimano Port Hacking 100

Check the tournament calendar for full details. Also we look forward to hearing how our Aussie teams fair in the Offshore World Championships this week!
