Day 2 Report

Day 2 has taken up where the hot fishing left off on Day 1 with another 42 tags for the day. Local team on the Bartlett family’s Black Magic had a top day with 7 tags to put them in front on the leaderboard. While Capt. Casey Dent’s Zulu also had a great day adding 5 tags to put them into second with 6 so far.  Some great shots from Amanda on board above and below. And Capt. Chris “Sharky” Miles team on Levante also added another 3 to put them into 3rd place with 5 tags leading into the final day of fishing.

Many more fishing being seen without converting!

Day 1 Report

The fishing is picking up just in time with 21 tags on day 1 of the Cairns Bluewater Billfish Tournament hosted out of Fitzroy Island. Capt.

With 33 boats fishing, Capt. Ross FInalyson’s Bounty Hunter is in the lead with 3 tags closely followed by a few teams including the Mackay team on Tony Wilson’s Hardline, major sponsors Telstra Business Centre’s Troy Stone’s Escape, Capt. Chris “Sharky” Miles on Levante, Gavin Goodwin’s Above Grade and Sheridan and Peter Yates’ Absolute all on two tags.

Hardline’s sked was 7-3-2 for the day so plenty of opportunity. Big thanks to Steven Leptig for the update. On his boat The Edge Steve said they also had plenty of action raising four unfortunately jumping off three for the one tag for the day!

Unfortunately the fishing in Townsville hasn’t fared as well with just the one sail reported for the day.

Good luck for everyone on Day 2!
