Garmin Mooloolaba Billfish Bonanza
The oginally weather postphoned tournament was held over the weekend with David Trask’s Big Business notching up their third tournament win in as many comps! While the fishing was not red hot compared to how it has been the stats 61 strikes, 53 hookups and 30 tags/captures and the billfish portion made up of 4 black marlin, 1 striped marlin and 4 sailfish.

Exmouth WA
Recently relocating to Exmouth from Mission Beach in North Queensland, Joey Atzeni who is better known for his spearfishing exploits on the east coast has been ticking off boxes as an angler in the great Exmouth fishery. This past weekend Joey put a swordfish on the scales at 48.5kg which is a pending WA record on 24kg. As Joey said he put a bit of time into researching the swords but was lucky enough to hook this one on the first drop. He also caught his first stripe the same day making it a very memorable day for him! (photo at top).
SHIMANO Port Hacking 100 Tournament – wrap up
David Joyce, President writes: It was fantastic to see 46 vessels take part in this year’s one day shootout format due to the wild weather from the south thrown our way. However there were still a range of great fish tagged and captured on Saturday. We had a fantastic Presentation Lunch with over 220 people attending.
