Move over Gold Coast. Port Stephens is firing right on queue! NSW Interclub started Thursday with the Ladies Day and main comp today Friday. Good luck to all competing.

It was a double digits day on the Calypso yesterday with Peter from Hungary who had never caught a marlin. Now he’s caught plenty! 13 bites releasing 12 including 3 successful double headers all on the skip baits and teaser.

Capt Scotty Thorrington’s Freedom has also had a hot last few days fishing with 27 in 4 days including a day of 13 fish (12 stripes and 1 black). Scotty says the stripes are in the normal 70-80kg and the blacks about 100kg. Plenty of bait and action on the carpark and looking good for the competition. He’s already way ahead on last year’s tally and predicting a big season particularly when the coast’s blacks show up in numbers which is traditionally from the first week in March.

Capt. Daniel Klein’s Cookie also among the fish going 7 from 7 on Monday and 11 from 16 Wednesday and . Dan says all his fish were skip baiting and teaser fishing👌
