Sunshine Coast Classic

This weekend on the radar in South East Queensland is the Sunshine Coast GFC’s Sunshine Coast Classic. This is sure to be a fun weekend and to get you in the mood, Sunshine Coast GFC Club Captain Rob “Smithy” Smith has sent me some footage filmed just before the cyclone came through on boat Capricorn, Smithy’s single screw Reelax on charter on the local Mooloolaba grounds. Smithy’s Tally is already up to 30 for the season.

Lake Macquarie Big Fish Bonanza

Due to the adverse weather conditions, the LMGFC Tournament committee postponed the Big Fish Bonanza, which was originally scheduled to go ahead last weekend, for this weekend, the 9th and 10th of February.

With much of the southern fleet already around for the NSW Interclub which starts later this month, its sure to be hotly contested!

Yorkey’s Knob Valentines Day Tournament

If there are ladies in the north like me and have been lamenting the lack of fishing fun over the wet, lament no more. The Yorkeys Knob Sportfishing Club and Battery World are calling all female anglers for the 2013 St Valentine Ladies Day Fishing Tournament being held over the weekend of the 15th, 16th & 17th of Feb.

Categories include: Billfish – Tag & Release, Heaviest Dolphin Fish, Heaviest Yellow Fin Tuna, Heaviest other Game Fish, Heaviest Coral Trout, Champion Boat (heaviest overall weight) & Best Decorated Boat and Crew.

With the generous support of Strictly Business Events & Accommodation Management as well as Events NQ, The St Valentine’s cocktail party is being held Sunday 17th from 3pm at the Yorkey’s Knob Boating Club. This event is both the tournament presentation & a fundraising event for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. With fantastic prizes for best dressed and quality raffles and giveaways this event is one not to be missed!
