Big black beautifuls at the top

Catch up photo from Claudia Georgouras on Illusion of one of sister Elsie’s fish from the tournament. I have more to come when internet is better.

(Also, because internet connectivity is not great, I’ll be adding links in tomorrow sorry guys! And lastly, I’m not getting text messages yet so apologies if I missed something!)

The hot fishing continues on the GBR with many captains reporting some awesome results in the fresh to frightening conditions.  Capt. Corey Hard’s Askari was one who reported a cracker day with 5 blacks ranging from 750 down to 150lbs – and with the conditions provided a hell of a thrill Corey says.  He also noted that the fishing reminds him of the days of old and that he can’t wait to get out there tomorrow.  That sums up how we’re all feeling I think!
And the seas make it not only hard on the anglers and crew but the photography as well. Below photo of Askari I took from nearby. There was a fish jumping there I swear ;-)

Capt. Tim Richardson on Tradition also tells me that the fishing is awesome but the big wind and seas make it hard going. He ended up with 4 from 7 yesterday at 350, 550, 850, 900 and lost another really big one at the boat just before dark.  Angler Brady got a big workout in the chair with not much rest yesterday and is hoping for more of the same today!

On KEKOA we put Jada onto another two from four on the baits including one that gave her a real workout.  We also saw several tailors including one in the sea monster category that didn’t bite.

Down the track Capt. Tim Dean on Calypso also converted two from three on the first day of his new trip and Capt. Daniel Carlson on Little Audrey had also turned angler Will Kozma’s luck around (Will has done previous trips to the reef for donuts) by putting him onto a fish of about 750lbs in the afternoon just before lines in.

I also heard Capt. Brett Goetze on Amokura on the radio and when I last heard, he’s only had the one fish but he said it was a good one (udpate: and it was, a fish that

And that’s all I have at the moment. I’ll have better service tonight so will catch up on any I missed then!
