With the Golden Lure set to kick off fishing on the weekend, a timely update in the leadup.
Tom Dykes reports that there are still plenty of blues out there with Long Time Dead getting one around 90kg with in 5min putting the lures out.
A few other boats were also catching one a piece while on Tom’s boat Care Factor they had a good start to the day with a double of dolphin fish within 2 minutes of putting the lures out, followed buy 3 yellowfin. Tom says they also dropped a marlin all with in an hour – and later on in the day go another double hook up on big fin landing one went 61kg (ending the day with 9-8-8 being one lost marlin, 4 yellowfin and 4dolphin fish from 10kg to 15kg).
Looking forward to more updates as the tournament gets underway!
The committee reminds anglers that the entries cut off is 5pm today and reports that the weekend’s weather forecast looks great and that Port Macquarie has missed the majority of the rain received in the Hunter region.
