Cairns and Hervey Bay

More big fish caught on the grounds off Cairns as the glamour weather also continues.

Capt. Tim Dean’s Calypso went 3-3-3 including a big one late for Herve from Vanautu putting him on an awesome 10 for last 4 days fishing.

Capt. Ashley Wallis on Kalira put angler Ryan Nailer onto a fish he put at 850lb pictured above.

Capt. Brett Goetze’s Amokura went 1 from 3 with the big one sticking for Betty catching her equal PB at 900lbs.

And Capt. Tim Richardson on Tradition tells me they got lucky and caught a nice sail bait fishing on the laser pro, and saw a couple during the day before getting the late bite again with 2 from 2 after 6 pm while watching Tim Dean catch his.

Capt. Daniel Carlson also had a top day on Little Audrey reporting 3 from 5. While Hayden Fretten’s The Outlaw missed a nice marlin but also tagged a sail. A few of them around too!

Hervey Bay Comp

And thanks to the team of volunteers at VMR Hervey Bay who have been filtering the HB comp reports through to me. I hear that a late bite saved a slower day of fishing yesterday. 8 blues, 4 blacks, 1 stripe tagged in the marlin department making a total for the two days of 29 blues, 7 black & 1 stripe.

Sunshine Coast GFC’s Reel Action is still in the lead heading into the final half day of fishing over GCGFC’s Mojo and Mistress.

Good luck to everyone fishing! I hear some NWers last night kept everything interesting in the anchorage and perhaps not much of a restful night.
