Port of Gold gaining momentum

A quick update from Port of Gold (Port Stephens) from Scott Lee on Gunrunner (thanks Scott!) from the last few days of fishing.

Scott report that Greg Plunkett on Lone Wolf went 2 from 2 on Wednesday with a stripe and a blue around 150kg, all on skip baits. Thursday Scott and team on Gunrunner went 2 from 2 on stripes, as did Brad on the Calypso late in the afternoon.

Friday, Nuthin Suss caught a stripe and there were a few others about. There are also plenty of Mahi in the 10 -15kg range chasing flying fish. The water temps are in 23-25 degree mark with water changing daily.

Unfortunately as yet there is very little bait (nothing jiggable) on the marlin grounds.

A much slower start to the season compared to last year but here’s hoping it gets there very soon before tourney season kick starts. Will be very interested to hear how the fishing goes at the Central Coast Bluewater Classic over the weekend as well Golden Lure this week!

Seperately, on Thursday Capt. Daniel Carlson’s Little Audrey went 2 from 2.
