Farewell to 2017

farewell-to-2017

As the end of 2017 approaches, more and more crews have been enjoying the send off on the water with more great results.

Leigh Holtsbaum had a cracker yesterday on Sea Eagle off the Gold Coast in 30-40m off the Seaway with Robert Johnstone from Longreach. Rob caught his first (and seventh!) black marlin – with 8 tags for the day. Their final stats were 25-16-10 (a wahoo and dolphin fish in addition to the marlin for the trip back to Longreach). Leigh said they suffered from a poor conversion rate on lures but was awesome to see most of the bites on the short lures.

Crews on the Sunshine Coast are likewise still catching the blacks too with the odd blue out wide.

Meanwhile Port Stephens (Port of Gold) has started to fire again with Scott Lee and Andrew Homann on Gunrunner catching 4 from 8 stripes switchbaiting two up yesterday as well.

I’m traveling tomorrow so not online so will take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy New Year! See you on the flip side!
