NSW Interclub

Anglers on 110 boats competing enjoyed fantastic fishing for the three days of the main NSW Interclub competition with a total of 428 marlin recorded for teams.

Champion Boat T&R from Sydney GFC Smartbill recorded 25 tags, 24 of which were marlin (11 blacks and 13 stripes) giving angler Jerome Ayad 20 individual tags!  Runners Up were Central Coast GFC’s Freedom with 18 tags from Kiama’s GFC’s Pro-fish-ent with 18tags including one dolphin fish all on 15kg.

In the teams competition Smartbill and Freedom’s individual fishing helped their teams go 1 & 2 with Sydney GFC Team 4 taking the win from Central Coast Team 1 and Newcastle & Port Stephens Team 3 in third.

On the Capture side some outstanding individual captures including a 120.2kg striped marlin on 10kg to Kelly Sweetman on Public Enemy who also took out the Champion Boat Capture for N&PS Team 2. Rampage for Broken Bay GFC were 2nd from No Excuse (N&PS). In the teams it was N&PS Team 2 from Broken Bay Team 2 and Lake Macquarie Team 3.

Fishing on Tantrum for Sydney GFC young Mia Wright has given older sister Makira’s records a shake with 2 new potential Australian records for a 25.9kg shortbill spearfish on 15kg and a 99.8kg blue marlin on 15kg.
