Blues, blacks and stripes

blues-blacks-stripes

Another great weekend on the water in NSW with more reports of blacks and stripes at Port. While off some great blue marlin fishing continues out wide.

Will Kozma told me about a great day on Loose Crew that started with a double header within 20 seconds of the gear going in the water.  Finishing up 6 from 12 blue marlin, all of the fish were caught in a 3 hour period off Port. They had a nice fish up trying to eat a floating lure as the crew were clearing the gear for another hookup.

A great day on the water!

Meanwhile off Coffs, Solitary Islands GFC members enjoyed another great weekend on the water post tournament with the area still holding a few marlin it seems.  Eight boats club boats fished on Saturday with Better Than Vegas going 2-2-2 on blacks on Friday including a first for Julie Simpson. On Saturday with Richard Rooney on Duchess got his first — an 80 kilo fish — on Saturday. Kestelle got a black and some wahoo, Alcatraz had an outbreak of rubber hook syndrome with none from six bites on blacks and blues and just a wahoo tag. Wicked Weasel was fishing the same enormous patch of bait though, and went 5-3-3 on blacks and a blue, with Garry Simpson on the rod.
