The Numbers

the-numbers

Seems like another high in terms of numbers of fish encountered yesterday also with word that a few more big fish are moving in. Its been kiddy marlin school on the reef for the past week!

On the numbers side, Capt. Tim Richardson’s Tradition started a new trip with guests from Puerto rico on their first ever trip to Australia, and went 4 from 5, as well as seeing 3 more, the biggest to 400lbs.

On the bigger side a catch up courtesy of getting mobile service last night from Capt. Brett Goetze’s Amokura. On Wednesday they released one about 400 and Brett said that ‘she’ had a smaller fish of about 50lbs with her the whole fight!  On Thursday (yesterday) they followed up with another two from four this time including a nice one that Brett put at 850 and the other 200 for angler Stephan Kreupl from Germany.

I’m expecting photos but in the meantime one of mine from one of our fish from yesterday above.

We fished in a group of boats that included Capt. Timmy Dean’s Tradition, Capt. Simon Carosi’s Assegai, Capt. Brent James Gorilla, Capt. Ashley Matthews Reel Easy, Capt. Alan “Tiger” Geal’s Athaldo, Capt. Daren “Biggles” Haydon’s Bounty Hunter (did I miss anyone lol?) with everyone having bites and/or conversions and a two for two for us on Capt. Luke Fallon’s KEKOA before we headed in for changeover. No doubt the late bite would have continued after we left! Capt. Tim Dean reported 2 at 250/200
and asked if someone can tell the big ones we are ready. Further up, Capt. Russell Caphorn’s Kaizen added another two from three as well.
