Amokura with Capt. Damon Gruzdev at the wheel for another trip went 2 from 2 yesterday with one at 250 and the second that Damon put at 950lbs.

On Capt. Luke Fallon’s KEKOA Jen spent close to two hours on the rod to successfully release her first big one of the trip with a fish that Luke put at 800lbs.

Capt. Tim Dean’s Calypso was back out on their first day yesterday with John and Jye Claydon from home.  Tim says they caught a couple late in the day for Brad Pretti who caught a 200 and Dean Holden who caught a 500lb-er. Jye’s turn today.

Capt. Tim Richardson on Tradition got a hot one that he put at 500lbs.

Lizard Island Black Marlin Classic

And now that we are less than a week out from the Lizard Island Black Marlin Classic, it’s probably time to share that we are not fishing this year (!) and even more, I won’t be able to hear the radio skeds (shock horror!) We (KEKOA) are off on a bit of a coral sea adventure (more on that later) but I will of course be keeping you up-to-date as much as I can on the scoreboard during the week. Just no tweeting fish by fish this year.  If you’re fishing and want to send me updates (always appreciated!), you can get me via email or text to 0434520343.
