Fraser fires 2 and updates from Cairns

fraser-fires-2-and-updates-from-cairns

I think we’re going to have to get used to Fraser fishing leading the reports, as the fishing yesterday once again showed why Fraser is in the headlines.

Capt. Brett Alty’s Mistress following up from 4 from 4 blues the day before, went 7 from 10 blue marlin yesterday.

While not the final results for the day I heard that by mid-afternoon, David McMaster’s Pole Dancer was 1 from 4, Deep Blue was fighting a double, Capt. Simon Carosi on Assegai was 2 or 3 from 6 or 7 while Brad Dobbin’s Special K was 1 from 4 or 5 and Rampage fighting. I will update with results as soon if I hear more.

Final Tally:
Mistress 7 from 10
Assegai 2 from 8
Special K 2 from 6
Pole Dancer 1 from 5 D
eep Blue Not Sure
Reel Affiar Not Sure

Cairns marlin season

Fishing seems a bit quiet this week over the week before. Catch up report from Capt. Ross Finlayson’s Bounty Hunter who were in port yesterday for changeover after 7 fish in 7 days with the biggest Saturday to finish the trip (photo top!).

Capt. Brett Goetze’s Amokura also recently finished a trip with owners Darren and Nicole Sandy and family. While the weather prevented as much fishing as they had hoped, junior angler Mathew angler managed 6 from 8 up to 400 lbs.

Down at Linden Bank from the private boat fleet, Luke Bird’s C Girl released a smaller model and also raised a bigger fish on Saturday.
